Sandwich recipe,rice recipe-Super Easy Step-Sushi Sandwich


Sandwiches can be served in many ways. Not just to go with some bread but steamed rice can be also great with some sandwich fillings! This time I’m showing you how to make rice balls without shaping hot steamed rice on your palms. I noticed many people are not used to touch hot and sticky rice directly. I don’t blame you… It IS not that pleasuring cooking process especially when you are in hurry. I found this method through the internet. There many people in Japan already making many kinds of these types of sandwiches. This time I arranged two kinds of rice sandwiches . One with traditional filling “tuna” but added a little twist to the flavor. And the other one is “Omelet-rice-like sandwich” Once you get the hang of it, you’ll be able to make dozens with no sweat! Using this method you can create your own rice sandwiches. And it’s perfect for picnic for this season. Or you can pack as bento and show off on your lunch break!

[ Ingredients ] *tsp=tea spoon tbs=table spoon

[ Miso Tuna Rice Sandwich]
70g canned tuna
1+1/2 tsp miso
2 tsp mayonnaise
1/2 cucumber
150g steamed rice
Salt to taste
1/4 tsp white sesame
1 sheet sushi nori
[ Egg & Avocado Rice Sandwich]
1 egg
Salt and pepper to taste
1 tbs mayonnaise
1/2 avocado
150g steamed rice
Salt to taste
1 tsp ketchup
1 sheet sushi nori

[ Directions ]

[ Miso Tuna Rice Sandwich]
1.Slice cucumber.

2. And cut into julienne.

3. This time I’m using boiled tuna.

4. Drain out the excess water by pressing with attached lid.

5. Add mayonnaise.

6. And then add some miso!

Miso aroma can go along with tuna very well. If you like it spicy, you can also add some chili sauce to make spicy miso tuna filling!

7. Mix well.

8. Combine steamed rice with salt and white sesame.

9. Lay a sheet of nori on plastic wrap.

Make sure to use an uncut large sheet of sushi nori.

10. Put about 100g of steamed rice in the center. Make sure to shape the rice diagonally to the nori so you have triangle space on each corner.

You need to have this space to cover up the rice…

11. Make a dent in the center so you have enough room for filings.

12. Spread the miso tuna evenly but leave a little margin on each side.

13. Add the cucumber.

14. Put about 50g of rice to cover the fillings.

15. Fold in the corner of nori.

16. Just like Origami, fold the rest of them.

17. Make sure to cover up the steamed rice without any gaps.

18. And then wrap up the whole thing with plastic wrap.

19. Finish wrapping process.

20. Flip the sandwich and gently press the center to let the rice spread evenly and fill in each corner. You can leave it for a few minutes to soften nori.

This type of sandwich,nori has to be moist so it can stick on the surface well and can make a clean cut for serving.

Q. Can I make them earlier and store in the fridge?

A. Steamed rice can be harden at low temperature. To enjoy this rice sandwich, ii’t best you make on the same day you are eating. Process is very simple. One you get the hang of it, you can make dozens with no sweat! ; )

21. Now I’m preparing the other flavor of rice sandwich. First make a hard boiled egg.

I usually start cooking eggs from the tap water. Bring it to a boil and keep simmering for 12minutes on low medium heat.

22. Remove the shell and crush it with a fork.

23. Keep crushing until fine.

you can also use a potato masher.

24. Add mayonnaise, salt, black pepper to taste.

25. Mix well.

26. Half an avocado and scrape out from the shell with a rubber spatula.

27. Slice about 1~1.5mm thin.

You can drizzle some squeezed lemon juice to prevent from discoloration.

28. Add ketchup and salt into steamed rice and mix well.

29. The rest procedure is about the same. The layer can be.. Nori->Ketchup rice->egg salad->avocado.

30. Top off with some more ketchup rice and use the same method to wrap up.

31. After moisturizing the sandwich, you can directly cut into half with wrap on.

Make sure to wipe your knife every cut so you can have a clean section.

32. Look at this beautiful layer~! the plastic wrap can be kept so you can easily pick up and eat!
